Things I have learned

okay - credit my old boss, Heidi for this list...just to make you laugh (or at least giggle)

GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED:
1) No matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats.
2) When your Mom is mad at your Dad, don't let her brush your hair.
3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They always catch the second person.
4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a tomato.
5) You can't trust dogs to watch your food.
6) Don't sneeze when someone is cutting your hair.
7) Never hold a Dust-Buster and a cat at the same time.
8) You can't hide a piece of broccoli in a glass of milk.
9) Don't wear polka-dot underwear under white shorts.
10) The best place to be when you're sad is Grandpa's lap.

Tomorrow I'll do more from the email she sent me....

Most of my fellow team members are on a cruise to Mexico w/the boss...I chose not to go, but they are in San Diego today & the weather sucks! Ha Ha Ha!!!

Lego's are from HELL

This "little" picture does no justice to the 1367 pieces it took Bob & I THREE yes 3 hours to assemble last night! I have re-assembled it at least 5, maybe 6 times in the 2 hours since we've been home from church today. Nathanael is not happy with himself for the fact that no matter how careful he's being, something comes apart. He just came in to tell me it had broken again & was laughing at my title - I told him to just leave it sit for now, we'd figure something out when Bob gets home.

Good sermon this morning, I know I needed the reminder that "Without the Head, the church is dead", but so do a lot of people at our church. One of the search team members gave a report & basically said, if we don't get unified and our "Head" on straight, we will die out, and nearly in tears, that he didn't want that to happen. It will be 2 years the end of March since our pastor resigned...and while I know God's timing is perfect, humanly I want Him to hurry up!

By the way

I changed the setting so anyone can post a comment, you don't have to join if you don't want to......

A Weekend with no commitments

Wow, first weekend in quite some time that other than men's bible study this morning, and the normal church thing tomorrow, we didn't have anything planned! Woo Hoo! Nat didn't even have school yesterday. If we'd had our brains about us and some money, we could have actually gone somewhere overnite - oh well. So, we headed to the Sacramento Zoo for the day yesterday - had a couple by the adult get the kid in free coupons - it's not the best zoo in the world, but we watched some lemurs jumping around for a while, then the otters...shopped at Arden Fair Mall, then Roseville Galleria and ended the day with dinner at Spaghetti Factory. We hadn't eaten there in a while and it was gooood. Today, grocery shopping, laundry, and that's about all I need to put my foot down about doing. Its 10am & the boys are still in their jammies (Nick actually in his clothes from yesterday since he crashed on the way home). They're watching Curious George and playing with the stuffed otters we bought yesterday. Still fighting this awful snot nosed cold I've managed to catch - Bob called me Rudolph the other day! Anyway, I should run and get the aforementioned laundry started and the grocery list made so we at least have some purpose to our meanderings around the store!

A Few Minutes

So, here I sit - having run to the mall to have 3 watch batteries replaced...finished inhaling my lunch, and not enough time to really do anything all that constructive. Besides, I can't breathe thru my nose right now and my ears are plugged...darn winter & chronic sinusitis. Lots of things floating thru my head right now...mom and her stuff, my parents leaving, still not having a senior pastor...one of these days, I'll find the time to vent it all when I don't have to necessarily look pretty for the next patient who walks in the door. As for now, I need to blow my nose real good, re apply the mentholatum under it, and get back to work, the schedule for tomorrow is relatively empty & its my job to fill it....wish me luck!

Too Much Going on!

Jeepers - its been a long time since I've blogged! Life has been nuts - left for So Cal Dec 21st to spend Christmas with the families; Bob & I headed to Long Beach on the 27th for Tsunami (State Youth Conference) - boys stayed with my parents; boys arrive back with us on the 29th; do the pirate dinner show thing with all the youth on the 30th; and then did Disneyland on New Year's Eve. Anyone tired yet? It gets better! New Year's Day we drive home to Yuba City. Bob & I dismantled the tree & decorations in 45 minutes flat before collapsing completely. Oh and on the day after Christmas, one of our kids calls from the church because the youth building and Bob's office are under 1 inch of water due to a broken pipe in the men's bathroom! I worked for the next 3 days, then flew back to my parents on the 5th to help my sister prep the house to be on the market (they're moving to Texas). Flew back home on the 7th, and back to work I went. Had a great time with our respective families - my boys are the youngest of the Veach cousins, and so get spoiled pretty rotten - they had my parents to themselves this year, since my bro moved to Ohio & my sis is in Texas...I need to finish sorting thru all the gifts piled in this back room; pay bills; and maybe start the taxes.

More later! Chelle
